Death/Birth Index for Navarro County

Does anyone reading this forum know if at the Navarro County Courthouse a birth index and death index was kept in the early years and can still be viewed at the courthouse?.

I have done lots of research in North TX and the Tx Panhandle and all the counties had a death index (some as I recall had a birth index).

Also, has the courthouse in Navarro County ever burned down? If so, what year?
