Hi, Thanks for your reply. My Grandfather's name was Jesus Obiedo, he was born in Mexico around 1840. He immigrated to the US around 1865 and became a citizen in 1879. He met and married Fancis Barefield in Pipe Creek, Bandera County, Texas. Sometime around 1872-1874. The earliest record I can find is the 1880 US census. The name is misspelled Ovado. Francis may have been from Louisiana and her father may have been from Mississippi.
