Looking for information on William P. Mims & Mary Antoinette Dumas who m. September 15, 1870 in Nacogdoches County, Texas. I have found: Lawrence Washington Dumas, b.1813 in SC and d.1865, in Magnolia Ferry, Anderson Co., TX. was a widower when he died and his minor children accepted W. P. Mims, their step-sisters husband, as their guardian. Bet. 1880 - 1891 - Shelby County Lumber Co. lien holder, W. P. Mims - Gagne, east of Timpson, on the Houston East West Texas. M. G. Whitaker estate papers: Receipt from W. P. Mims for casket, 1893. Dec. 11, 1894 - Fort Worth Gazette - W. P. MIMS of Nacogdoches left for home tonight. He came to Austin to ask Mr. CULBERSON to appoint him financial agent of the penitentiaries. Deed: William. P. Mims to E. Whitaker, 1895.
