I checked a map program I have, and found that Smith (from Nac), Dallas (from Nac), Henderson (from Nac and Houston), Hopkins (from Nac and Lamar), Hunt (from Nac and Fannin), and Upshur (from Nac and Harrison), Counties were created in 1846. I found no further changes to Nacogdoches County up til 1870, and doubt that further changes of much size occurred thereafter. It would seem that Nacogdoches County has been in its present shape since 1846. Hope this helps.
