Hale of 503 I have a short Engledow history, which includes a tidbit or two on the Hardeman family. Julia Ann Engledow married John B. Hardeman, son of Dr. Blackstone Hardeman(1790-1867) and younger brother of Major Blackstone Hardeman(1822-1882), of Melrose. The Engledows were early settlers of eastern Nacogdoches County (Melrose), arriving prior to statehood. Miss Gladys Hardeman compiled this information in 1971.
