Hello,
I believe that Sarah Norman was an important friend to my ggggrandmother, Polly Mary Puscochummy and her brother, Peter Frank "Huska" Puscochummy.
In testimony before the Choctaw Chickasaw Citizenship Court, Polly Mary (by then she was known as Mary Huffman) said that Sarah Norman of Milam County, Texas, took her in (along with her brother, Peter) and basically raised them following the death of their parents.
On the 1870 census, you will find Polly Mary, Peter Frank (Peter had often used the surname Norman, since Sarah had been their foster mother), and Polly's two children (by her first husband, Samuel Sous Florice), Victoria and Joshphene/Josephine, living next door to Sarah Norman in Milam County.
Because of Sarah Norman's big heart, my ggggrandmother was greatly helped.
Since you are the gggggrandchild of Sarah Norman, I just wanted to say "Thank you".
