John Washburn and Adair family - 1860-1880

On the 1870 census for Milam County there is a Nancy Virginia Adair in the household of John A. Washburn at age 7 or 8. Any information on who her parents might be? There is a Charles W Adair who:
(1)lives close to John A Washburn in Monroe County, Arkansas on the 1860 census,
(2)served in the same unit in the Civil War,
(3)lives close to him in Shelby County, Tn on the 1850 census.
These facts make Charles W Adair a good candidate to be the father. Is there a family tie to the Washburn family?
Any clues would be appreciated and any information that is then found will be copied back to the society.
