Brooks families in Milam County, Texas

Seeking to connect with others researching the Wiley/Wylie families, primarily descendants of John Wiley (b. 1791NC) and Margaret Downes (b. 1792 NC). The family was in Itawamba County, MS prior to 1850 and for 1850 and 1860 census. During Civil War many family members migrated to Illinois, then to Hardin County, TN. A son and daughter married Charles Malone Brooks and Amy Ann Brooks, brother and sister from Franklin Co., AL. Their father was William Malone Brooks, Sr. (b. 1804 SC/d. aft 1870 Red River Co., TX) who was in Franklin Co., AL 1840. To Texas about 1851. Charles Malone Brooks married Caroline Wiley 1844 in Franklin Co., AL. Was in Itawamba Co., MS 1850 and 1860. Left MS abt. 1862 to join army. He died 1863 Bolivar, TN. His family and Wiley/Wylie families migrated to Illinois for short time about 1863 and settled in Hardin Co., TN. Several Brooks descendants in Milam Co., TX 1900 and 1910 and later.
