Yes I have ancestors who lived in Milam County but were originally from Silesia (Prussia). My ancestors are the Von Zedlitz. My great grandmother Hillebrand was from Schmiedeberg, Silesia and my great grandfather Von Zedlitz was from Striegam (Striegau) Silesia (Schlessien). You'll find many different ways to spell cities and names of people when they converted over to English ways of spelling. You may check with FamilySearch.org as I found some of my ancestors that way using Germany as the key land to search in but like you said it really it is in Poland. So try there and also try using Google.com with the name of the person you are looking for as it will usually open up German and Silesia sites to look through and if you know German, you are way ahead. Good Luck! JHunt
