Hi Dallie,
Haven't got in touch with Maida yet, but I will try later tonight.
I found a site on the web this morning that lists all the Confederate Army units. I haven't looked at it yet, but I did bookmark it. What info do you have on John Robert Blocker's joining the Confederate Army other than he joined in Inka Miss. My atlas has an Iuka Miss in Tishimongo Co. ( I hope I spelled the name of the county right). It's right up in the top corner of Miss. next to Ala., do you suppose that is where he joined?
Do you know when and where he got out? I intend to look for him in that list and I think that any info would help, don't you. They said that it would give the name of the parents of the soldier etc. I think it's worth a try.
I went to GenForum and put the name blocker in just the TX list, not the Milam Co one and there was a Seth Blocker, with a Mildred who apparently was his wife, in Bowie Co TX around 1850---interesting.
