Hattie Cunningham in 1900 Census

Need information on Hattie Cunningham who is enumerated with George W Wheatley in the 1900 census in Milam County. She is listed as "adopted daughter". I would like to know if she married and to whom did she marry. Also would like to know if she was the natural daughter of George's wife Minerva or was she the daughter of perhaaps George's first wife. In 1900 Hattie would have been about 19 years old.

Minerva Jane Holloway married George W Wheatley in 1885 in Jackson Co., AL. Per the 1900 census Hattie was born in 1881 in Alabama so the adopted daughter relationship could mean she was Minerva's daughter or the daughter of George's first wife if indeed he was married before Minerva. So far I can not find a previous marriage for George or Minerva. Of course "adopted" could also be a term for someone who is not related but living with them.

Help with this family would really be appreciated. They lived in the Lilac community of Milam County for quite a few years and George and Minerva are both buried in Lilac Cemetery. George died in 1927 and Minerva in 1937. I have information on Minerva's Holloway line as they are my direct line and I will be happy to share what I know.
