Bright Star shows up in Rains Co, TX. Rains Co. was formed in 1870, parent counties included Hopkins, Hunt & Wood. But, first census listed for Rains Co. is the 1880. If your people lived near the county line, the "nearest" postoffice listed on the census might actually be in neighboring county.
