According to Everton's "Handy Book for Genealogists", Eastland Co, TX has their birth records beginning 1903. You might try for a copy of Lawrence's birth certificate. On checking out the SSDI, closest match for name of Lawrence Blankenship was: b 28 Nov 1900, d Feb 1976, SS #702-07-9850, final payment-Laclede, MO, Long time or retired railroad worker. Best match on George Renfro: b 8 Feb 1908, d Jul 1971, SS # 700-10-0232, final payment Multnomah, OR, Long Time or retired railroad worker. Notice both have SS # that is a seven hundred number, railroad workers had their own retirement plan and received a SS # that showed they were railroad workers. Or, you can use hyperlink at the end of this message and look at SSDI for yourself:
