Your query said this elusive ancestor came to Cherokee Co, TX. Did you check the 1850 census for Cherokee Co? Have you visited the Cherokee Co, TX GenWeb site? Check it out and post a query, maybe someone will see it and follow up on it at the Swap Meet for you. Browse through back queries, I made great "find" on that site.
