Saline Salt Works???

I found the following message in the "Texas Division United Daughters of the Confederacy Ancestor Roster": SIMS, Jacob M.--Gen. Cabell's TX Brigade, then transferred to take charge of Saline Salt Works. My great-grandfather was Jacob Milton SIMS born in 1844 in TN and served as an officer in the Confederate Army in TX. I don't know if this is my SIMS or not. I would like to know any info on where Gen. Cabell served and also any info about the Saline Salt Works. I would appreciate anything and maybe I can connect back to my gr-grandfather. Thanks.
