not finding Emma's DC

It looks like he had dementia, and probably in his own little world. Sad Emma had to lose her life as well,

I found one article, Brownsville Herald TX 4-14-1930.
Clarkesville, W F HARGETT, farmer, shot & seriously wounded his wife, with no hope for her recovery, then turned the gun on himself and died instantly. No reason was given for the shootings.
