ROBERT HARRELL WILLIAMS , JR ., 67, of La Porte, Texas died January 12,1998 in Pasadena, Tx. born in Carthage, Texas March 1, 1930, he served as a Paratrooper in the Army and recently retired as a Lt. Colonel with the Texas National Guard. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of
La Porte and member and past-President of the La Porte Rotary Club. Began teaching at La Porte Schools in 1957, held various administrative positions until being appointed superintendent of La Porte School District in 1979 serving in that capacity until his retirement in 1991.
He is survived by his son, Scott Williams and daughter, Georganne Williams , both of Houston; Mother, Comela Williams of Carthage, Tx; brothers, James Williams & Ronny Harkness, both of Marshall, Tx; sister, Billie Jean Soape of Carthage, TX; grandchildren, George Edward Williams
& Amanda Rhodes. Services at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 15, 1998 officiated by Rev. Randy Gilchrist with interment at Grand View Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will receive friends at Funeral Home on Wednesday From 6-8 P.M. Paul U. Lee-La Porte Funeral Home, 201 South 3rd Street,
