Do you have a copy of his death certificate? It may tell who his parents were.

I see from other info online that Robert was born in Farmersville, Collin Co., TX. Do you know if that is correct?

There is a John E. Moore in Farmersville, Collin Co. in the 1900 census. It is virtually unreadable, but his wife seems to be a second wife, age 27, and I cannot read who else is in the household. Robert would have been about 16, and may already have left home.
