This is not my line but-

I believe most of the modern military service records are stored in St Louis - if I remember right - you can send for a copy - it should have a record of duty stations and awards - I believe if you contact the local military recruiter they should be able to get you the address

As for the birth it is a little strange-
Oza A Benson - mother -child b 11 May 1922 Wichita Co cert #30119

It would appear that Oza married Lucy A Brown between 1920 and 1921
Lucy A - Lucinda Alzona (McGlasson) Brown being the widow of James Oscar Brown -Oscar Brown married Lucy McGlosson 20 Dec 1903 Hunt Co - with whom she had at least 5 children among whom were Walter Eugene Brown b 19 Apr 1913 in Archer Co and Elizabeth Ruby Brown b 28 Apr 1910 Baylor Co

In 1910 James 'Oscar' Brown and Lucy were in Baylor Co - in 1920 Lucy was in Wichita Co
In 1930 Oza and Lucy were in Tom Green Co

If there is a Cherokee connection I would say it would run through Lucy's line but have not tracked her back so can't say

Hope it helps
Betty
