Ma'am,
I looked in to that...I found him in the 1880 US Census living in Texas west of Fort Worth. I can't find anything before that time. I did notice in later census records, his birth was both Mississippi and Alabama. I do find a lot of Evetts living in Texas so I'm hoping that he or his family stopped in Texas and he moved on after that.

Talk about a needle in a haystack....hahaha
