Zavala County Clerk should have marriage records back to abt 1885 if you know your parents place of marriage is that county. You can Google the mailing address/e-mail or phone to get info.
The census records are almost non-existent for 1890-1900 in Zavala Co. on the list I looked up, however there is an 1880.I would suggest you find all records, your grand parents' and/or parents' marriage certificate, death certificates, birth certificate or any bible records your grandparents or parents kept. The death certificates, if you know where the grandparents are buried, should have their parent's names and towns, as should your parents.
When beginning genealogy, always start with yourself.Write down all your dates, places and names, then your parents, then grandparents and you will have a tree to research from. Don't forget church records, baptismal, etc.
After you have your dates and names, then start at a library and check the census records for each county they lived in until 1930(end of census now available).Good luck.
