OK, from DC for William I see Stanton was in Martin Co, TX and William was buried in Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring, which is in Howard Co, TX. If you go to Find a Grave site -- -- you can see a photo of his headstone. Wonder why he was buried there???? No other Erwins are listed, but many lists of these cemeteries are not complete.

I know this hasn't taken you back to George and Nancy, but others browse this forum with access to more sources than I have and they may be able to build on this.
