Hello,
I read this today....first time confirmed my name...
Thorne Williams....on birth certificate...
Named after uncle...Thorne Ford...never knew...
this got started about 10 days ago...my brother is in the hospital, leg amputation, diabetes...I was cleaning out his room...in closet blocked by clutter for 30+ years was a photo album...very, very old....1890's and before...from my father's side...Williams, Buna Texas...no names on any of 22 photos..except three civil war vets with peg legs...they apeared about late 40's , early 50's so photo circa 1880's....found a card with Floy Ford on it , nothing else...she was Grandmother, Susie Ford Williams' little sister...
One photo a tin type...might be Byrd Williams, a civil war vet.
Only clue is on 11 of the photos there is the name of a photo studio and a city.
In the past week or so I have found over 80 ancestors...original settlers of Texas,North Carolina, Jamestown, Virginia (those were high peers of the crown) and Mass.found over 20 cities in England where some were from...and even a ship, the Truelove..one came over on..about 1638.I am English...never knew...
Thank you, so much....
Thorne Williams....
