Probate record #726, Anderson Co., TX, regarding guardianship.
J.B. Scarborough died intestate. The date of his death was not given. In 1887, Wm. Arwine, step-father of John H. Scarborough of whom John was "over age 14 y," petitioned the court to become John's guardian and replace the current guardian - George T. Bradford - uncle-in-law of John H.(Note: George T. Bradford pur'd a lic. on Jan. 4, 1882, Anderson Co., TX to wed Emma R. Lively -sister of John's mother Elizabeth.)The records show the mother of John - Elizabeth Arwine, deceased, the land acquired during her marital relationship with W.W. Watts, deceased and said Elizabeth. The record also shows that John, minor, owns 1/8 interest in the estate.
One George Scarborough was a deputy of the court when the citation was issued on Nov. 10, 1893 for William Arwine to appear before the Judge and make a yearly report as guardian.John H. became of age and dismissed his guardian on Jan. 1, 1894.
