Thanks for your reply. James W. Lane b. ca. 1809 and Levina Lane b. ca. 1815 were the parents of Rhoda Ann Lane b. ca. 1834, all in Georgia. They were on the Tarrant Co., TX 1850 Census. Rhoda Ann Lane married Malcolm Dent Beall (b. 7 Aug. 1834 in Holmes Co. MS) in Dallas Co.,TX in 1855. Malcolm's sister America (Ammie) Beall b. 1846 in Attala, MS married Sam Lane. I don't know who the parents of James W. Lane and Sam Lane are, but it seems that the two might somehow be related. Malcolm Dent Beall's great-grandfather Thaddeus Beall got land in the 1805 Georgia Land Lottery as did his grandfather Walter Dent and a Samuel Lane and a James Lane, so the families probably knew each other for three generations.
