L.J. Potter b: 1810-1811 Connecticut is on the 1850-1860 Marshall, Harrison, Texas census, spouse M.W. b: Georgia, children born AL. and TX. from dates of children's births I would say they left AL and removed to TX around 1840. Spouse M.W. isn't on the 1860 census your Great Great Grandfather is J.T age 6y.
ancestry.com has Austin, Texas Directory, 1887-92 Schools, Directories & Church Histories lists Lockwood J. Potter, I'am not a member you can view it for free at your local library.
contact Travis County Texas Genealogy see if you can locate his death certificate http://www.kindredtrails.com/TX_Travis.html
