Lucinda Black and Granville McLin
Lucinda and Granville are my husband's 2x great grandparents. They were married in Collin Co., TX in 1873.Their son, Charles Monroe McLin, was born in 1876 and he is my husband's great grandfather.Charles M. McLin died in 1967 in Liberty Co., TX.
We are really looking for information on Lucinda. She is supposedly the daughter of Monroe Black and Saphrenia Hyrams.Monroe is suppose to be the son of Capt John S Black and Mary Bingley.John S Black received land in Grimes Co., TX for his service at the Battle of San Jacinto and this is where he settled. Most of John S Black's children are documented through census records and marriage records but son Monroe has been very elusive. However, in the past year we have learned more about him.
We believe after Monroe's death his widow Saphrenia remarrieda man named George McLain.Would really like to know what happened to the children of Monroe and Saphrenia, especially Lucinda. The last known record of Lucinda is the 1880 census in Montgomery Co., TX where she is living with her brother, W.M. Black, and her son, Charles M. McLin.Through family stories she died about 1885 and was buried somewhere around Richmond, TX.There is also a story that she married a man by the last name of Kelly but can find no record to prove or disprove.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
