Just thought I'd let you know about Coldsprings, Texas....Now I didn't realize there was another town named "Cold Spring" as per Sandra's previous post. I live about 15 miles from Coldsprings...the one in San Jacinto County. It is the County Seat. The town is very historic. It is not a very large town. Of course the town where I live is so small that anything else is big by comparison. (New Waverly, pop. 936) If you are looking for information on Coldsprings...I suggest you contact the "Old Jailhouse Museum" curator. I have spoken to her on previous occasions. She is very knowledgeable on the history of the town...and I believe she is also a member of the San Jacinto County Genealogy Society.
I hope this information helps.
