Here are some more extracts from the Bone family letters that *may* be related to the family of Charles G. Judkins and his first wife Elizabeth Basket. I'm going to just quote them without any interpretation, except to say that it appears that Elizabeth died somewhere around the time the letters were written, and that Charles G. Judkins remarried about a year later.

3 Feb 1862
Asenath M. Paine to Robert Donnell Bone:
"Bob, I hear it whispered that C. G. asked me for sertin papers. I rold him I did not have them. He said you had them and he intended to sue me for them. I don't want to get into a dificulty. He says he has paid for his land and he wants to get it fi--. Write to me about it. What to do and so on. He borried H ams best mule, went to Angelina Cty. a courting, lost the mule. He has offered 50 dollars for it but it don't come in. Write to me as soon as you get this. Take good care of yourself and Jim..."

9 Mar 1862
Griselda Minerva (Burk) Bone to Robert Donnell Bone:
"Mr Judkins braught his old lady home the other day the one that lived down at home [or homes or homer]"

Robert Donnell Bone to Griselda Minerva (Burk) Bone
Posted from Arkadelphia, Arkansas (Clark County) while Dr. Bone was in the Confederate service:
"Jim Paine & Bill Judkins are gone down to Big Jim Paine's-"
