Somewhere in Eastern Texas a POW camp ww11 time period
I am trying to find information about a POW camp that was located somewhere in Eastern Texas during WW11. I have no clue where in Eastern Texas it may have been.
My late aunt was an RN there during WW11(probably around 1942-44, but not sure of dates). Her name was Dorothy (Mackin)Bradley.I'm not sure if she and my uncle had married at this time or not, but his name was James J or P Bradley. Both were born in MA.
I'd like to know the name of this Camp, location(town etc) how long did it operate(when did it open--close). Where were the prisons primarily from. What ebecame of those prisoners after the end of the war.
Who was in charge, and is there a listing somewhere of civilan employees as I believe Dot was a Civilan employee.
But maybe not.
Thank you for any help with this.
Barb
