Col. Crockett Boone a veteran newspaper man of Texas died at Van Ham Jan 5 from pneumonia. The burial took place at Santa Anna Texas the home of his nephew Dan Boone. Col. Crockett Boone was one of the veteran newspaper men in Texas, has edited papers in many places in the State, was a resident of Jefferson and with the Jimplecute for several years. He was editor of the Chronicle at Van Horn in the far west at the time of his death.
