I. D. Mayo, 66, of Route 1, Silsbee, passed away Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in Hamilton Nursing Home after an extended illness.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lonnie C. Treadway of the First United Pentecostal Church, officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
Mr. Mayo had resided in Silsbee the past 21 years and was a native of Jasper. He was born September 21, 1907, the son of Charlie and Harriett Mayo. April 3, 1929 he married Miss Ida Lou McMillian in Jasper. He was a retired millwright for Kirby Lumber Co.
He is survived by his wife, Ida Mayo of Silsbee; three sons, Ivon Mayo of Courtland, N. Y., David H. Mayo of Beaumont and Clyde N. Mayo of Huntsville; two daughters, Mrs. I. F. Brooks and Mrs. Raymond Ratley, both of Beaumont; one brother, Albert Mayo of Houston; two sisters, Mrs. Melvin McMann of California and Mrs. Lottie Sirmons of Kountze and 11 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be A. K. Henson, Harold Phelps, Rex Kluck, Ralph Allen, Jack Sturrock and James L. Rainwater.
