Yes, that age of 29 seems to rule him out. However, I did find something interesting. A man named G. W. Cannon, born 30 October 1829, died 23 March 1907, is buried in Old Dustin (aka Spokogee Cemetery) in Duston, Hughes Co., OK. Also buried there is his wife, M. J., died 8 April 1908 at the age of 23. IF the dates are correct, then he REALLY robbed the cradle. He would also have been of the right age to have served in the WBTS, maybe this is the guy. The fly in the ointment is that he and his wife died prior to 1915 when Oklahoma started paying pensions. However, North Carolina started paying penisons to vets/widows in 1885. I can't find a free online index of NC pensioners. I read that another poster gave some census records from Huges County so all of this does make me curious, maybe just pure coincidence but perhaps there is some sort of family connection. I would follow-up on the pension file, nothing ventured, nothing gained.Rick
