William Lee Rodgers (Willie Lee Rodgers)

Need some help here.

My husband's grandfather was William Lee Rodgers (death cert which erroneously lists him as William H Rodgers), aka Willie Lee Rodgers (military draft registration). Born 3/26/1885 in Texas - and per census his father was born in Alabama and mother born in Texas.
He married Cordie Lewellen (daughter of James & Susan Rainwater-Lewellen) in 1914 in Oklahoma, where they stayed until at least 1919 and he worked picking cotton. They had five children born to them - Ida Florine, Zella Fay, Florence, Flossie Irene and Carl. Three were born in Oklahoma and the two youngest were born in Texas. All of the children eventually moved east to the Maryland area and all are now deceased.

My dilemma is that I can find no record of William prior to his military draft registation. Wondering if anyone has a lost sheep William from one of their family branches. Or even if the kids names are family names that may help connect my William.

Any thoughts, help, comments or questions are welcomed. I can be reached at juviemom@bellsouth.net.

Blessings,

Bobbi Pohlman-Rodgers
