Hello Sherry; I am also looking for Pate's.My dad was Jearl Gordon Pinner (b19 May 1925;d21 May 1998) and married my mom Barbara Jeane' Fenley on 21 May 1949. My grandma was Mina Estelle Pate Pinner (b25 Nov.1905 in Angelina Co.,Texas;d. 31 July 1991 in Lufkin,Angelina Co., Texas) and who married my grandpa Joe Gordon Pinner on 17 Nov.1922. My gr grandpa was Joseph Warren Pate (b.23 April 1878 in Comanche Co.,Texas & d. 15 Nov.1967 in Lufkin, Angelina CO.,Texas) and he married Sarah Louisa Allen on 24 Dec. 1896. His Paarents were father Gilbert G. Pate (b.1833;d.1884-85)& mother was Catherine Stewart/ Gilbert Pate father was Newell Walton Pate (b. 17 Dec.1811 Morgan Co.,Georgia;d. 1855 in Henderson Co.,Texas);and married Harriet Brown on 17 Dec.1829 in Tuscaloosa Ala.;. Newell Pate father was Thomas Pate (b 1760-1770 in South Carolina).
I am still working on it with help from a cousin AJ Pate.
