Hi Joan

Thanks for posting that! I do have all of that information, from that source, found in the last few weeks. William Frank Barrington in the last part of your post may be the son of Frank and Jane. I am not sure. The family says the name of the child they had was Frank. The timing looks right to me for it to be the same person. Whoever filled out his death info may have thought his step father was his biological father? Or he could be the son of Thomas Whitfield that took his step fathers name? Not sure.

What I am hoping to find through this post is maybe someone who has info about the area or the families that might confirm any of this since I can't find any info about Frank (Sr)in the census or birth or death records, etc. I did find a John W Smith who was a sheriff, but he is John William, and I am not sure if he is the same man. I can't confirm that he is, anyway. The name I have is John Wesley, with a side notation that a fellow family member and researcher noted that says: "Bill?"

Thanks again for taking the time to look this up! I never fail to be amazed at how willing genealogists are to look up stuff for other people and share...
