Jarrett Dean of AL's relationship to John or James Minton Dean not proved.

Since the early 1940's it has been claimed that Jarrett Dean, husband of Priscilla Dean of whom both were of Talladega Co., AL, was a brother of John Dean and James Minton Dean of Lowndes Co., AL. However, a recent Y-DNA test proves that John and James are NOT brothers. Thus, the relationship of Jarrett to either John or James Dean is now in question since no record has been located to definitely prove if Jarrett was a brother to one or the other of the above.

Countless Jarrett Dean records are now proved to be false regarding his relationship to John and James. Thus, not being a descendant of Jarrett's, but being interested in correcting the misinformation regarding him, a male Dean descendant volunteer is badly needed to participate in a Y-DNA test.

I am hoping that someone from the Jarrett Dean family line will wish to have their records be correct and come forward from their desire to learn to which of the above Deans they may or may not be related.

It is definite that Jarrett has male descendants in Louisiana, Alabama, and in other States. Those of us who are interested in correcting those old faulty Dean records look forward to hearing from any of Jarrett's male descendants or anyone who can help locate a male descendant.
