This is a from the handwritten narative and ethnic background of the Collins family by Maude E
Collins Eason. Discovered April 2003.

“Great Grandmother Hannah Saul-From Africa.
Great Grandfather-white with an Indian for a father-two children were born to them-Clem and George. Our great grandmother Hannah was bought by John Saul in New Orleans on the slave block. Our grandmother Clem was their second child. After emancipation our greatgrandmother married a colored man Ben Saul and had six children. The last I heard from them they were living in Belton Texas. She died fall of 1891, I remember her. She was very tall. “
