James R. Stewart(d) Wm B Brent Texas Revolution
Posted by: Bill Steward (ID *****0134) Date: June 06, 2009 at 14:17:08

William had a daughter Anne who married Charles Labon Steward, they were my GG Grandparents. William B Brent received bounties of land for service in the Texas Army, was in Capt Wyly's Co., he joined on March 17 1836 and mustered out about a year later, died shortly thereafter. We know nothing of Wm B Brent's family or were he came from to serve in the Texas Revolution. Rumors are Western Tennessee or Kentucky. Only clues are correspondence from an attorney in Decatur Alabama in the 1850's seeking additional land bounties. Charles L Steward's father, James R. Stewart(d) settled in Decatur Alabama from Jackson Co. Tennessee prior to 1850. James also appears to have served in the Texas War. My family is still in Texas and have been, off and on, since 1836. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Bill ELbert Steward Palo Pinto COunty Texas
