My name is Harry Leo Spore II and I was born Aug. 29, 1976. Obviously, my father's name is the same (without the II), and he was born June 3, 1956. My natural grandfather, who I never met, was also Harry Spore, but the middle name was different. I believe he is already deceased, but the middle name was Louis, or something similar starting with an L.
I am estranged from my family, or I would ask them. I have a son who just turned five on May 16 and I don't want to tell him that I have no idea where he comes from. My father lived in Geneva, Ohio, when he met my mother, and his mother, Merilyn, still lives there. They moved to Texas soon after, and I was born there. Other than that, I don't know anything else. My mother's maiden name was Rembacki, if that helps. I would try to track my ancestry through her, but my maternal grandfather was adopted by Polish immigrants (even though he was OBVIOUSLY from Italian descent).
I am desperate to find out the ancestry of my family name, so I want to track down the lineage from my father's side. I don't want to pay an online B.S. website because I think they're all a scam. Pay them $60/month? I don't think so. I don't know what else to do to find out who my father's father's ancestors are. Since Spore is not a common name, I wouldn't be surprised if Ancestry.com or those other sites didn't turn up anything.
If anyone can help me, please reply to this message and it will notify me of your reply. I really would like to fill out my family tree more than just two branches. Not only so my son will know where he came from, but also so I can have a sense of family, even if it's a timeline.
