On the 1900 Census Madison Co Tx, I see a James Wheden, born 1836 and wife Lucy, born 1837. This may be James Wheeden,s parents. It does show that he was born in AR, and both his parents also. It states Lucy is born SC and her parents both born SC. This website is good at finding Census records and Death records. I am not related. Good luck, Vidia
