That DC is for an Everet "Jr.". His father was also Everet and probably the one you found living with a grandmother on the census records.

Once you have full dates of death, then you can look for obituaries. Often survivors are listed and if they live out of the immediate area, the state of residence might be given. Plus, a good way to learn married names of female members of the family. Oh, except of course when they list them as "Mrs." John Smith -- don't you just love that????
