Andrew J. & Susan Fannin Phillips family in Falls Co and Anderson Co. Texas

I'm trying to help my wife track down an Andrew J. Phillips, a sibling of her ggrandfather, a Raymond R. Phillips. Both are sons of an Isaac and Louise Phillips of Pike Co, MS. Andrew J. Phillips, last shows up in the 1860 Holmesville, Pike Co, MS census and then disappears.

I'm hoping to find out if an A. J. Phillips family, with daughters, Sallie and Emma, that I've found listed in Falls Co, TX in the 1880 census might be the Andrew J. Phillips family that we are seeking.

Both A. J. Phillips and his wife, Susan, and daughter, Sallie, are listed as being born in Mississippi.

I've found information that Andrew J. Phillips' two daughters married on the same day, Nov. 25, 1892. Sallie Phillips to an E. F. Lawrence and Emma Phillips to a Lewis Henderson Estes, son of a Martin L. and Sarah Phillips Estes. Sarah Phillips Estes and son, Lewis Estes, are from Mississippi.

I've, also, come across a Texas death certificate for an Isaac Jackson Phillips, who died in 1968 in Walker Co, TX. The certificate lists his parents names as Andrew Jackson Phillips and Susan Fannin. I've found listings of burial for a Andrew J. Phillips and Susan F. (Fannin?) Phillips in Pilgrim Cemetery in Elkhart, Anderson Co, Texas, both died in 1924.

We believe that Sarah Phillips Estes, whose son, Lewis, married A. J. Phillips' daughter, Emma, may also be another sibling of my wife's ggrandfather, Raymond Phillips. Raymond Phillips married a Mary Estes in Pike Co, MS.

Raymond and Sarah Phillips both show up in the Isaac Phillips family in the 1850 Pike Co, MS census and both Martin L. and Mary Estes show up in the William Estes family in the 1850 Pike Co. Ms census. Neither Raymond or Mary Phillips are listed in the Isaac Phillips family in the 1860 census, nor are Martin L. and Mary Estes listed in the 1860 William Estes family.

It seems that the Phillips family, Estes family and Fannin family, all moved from Mississippi to Falls Co, TX at about the same time.

I hoping to find out if any one has any information on whether or not all three families, Phillips, Estes and Fannin, are connected and find out if they might link to my wife's Phillips line in Mississippi.

Any help in finding descendants of, or information on, any of the families, above, would be greatly appreciated.

Lionel C.
