Since you appear to be a competent genealogist, I just took a few minutes on this. Did you look under the family Brockman? There was a John Brockman in Early County in the 1820 Census. Early and Elbert are distant, so these two may not be related. As you may have seen, the mothers maiden name is often found as a middle name of a child.
