Roth Families and Connections

My G-Grandfather's name was; "Joseph Mathias Roth" - he lived and died in Iowa, Joseph's father's name is "Pierre Roth" , Pierre remained in the Metz, France, the Alsace/lorraine area as did one of Pierre's daughters who's name was "Catherina Roth Rufenach" she married a "Charles Rufenach".

Catherina's three children were sent to America to live with my G-Grandfather Joseph M. Roth as Charles Rufenach was cruel to them, it was Catherina's grandson that told me that there was a Frank F. Roth that was a brother to my G-Grandfather Joseph so I need to find this branch of the tree so I can complete my Family Tree for the families here in America, I'm not sure how to find information on my GG-Grandfather Pierre Roth's siblings and parents back in the Old Country , all I know about them is they first came out of Woerms,Germany during the Roman Empire days.

G-Grandfather Joseph had a younger brother Peter Paul Roth ( born; Jan.15,1879 )that disappeared with his mistress in the 1916 / 1917 when his youngest son was about 4 or 5 years old, I'm very intrigued with Peter Roth's disappearance, I have wondered if he might had changed his last name ( he took the money from the sell of cattle that he sold for the family when he left ), I do know that last known State he had been in was Texas and there was talk that Peter wanted to go back to the Old country, this one has me stumped, but the rest of the lines and Peter's line ( before Peter took off ) line I have, cept for Frank Roth's.
