Criminal Libel Action
Sherman, Texas, June 12: In the county court of Montague County, ROBERT SHEEGOG of this city was fined $300 and given ninety days in prison for criminal libel. It is alleged that Sheegog caused to be published in the Nocona Ledger, of which he has been the editor, an article assaulting the character of EDWARD WATKINS of the Nocona Argus. Mr. Sheegog gave bond and the case will go to another court by appeal. He states that he feels confident of a reversal. Mr. Sheegog is connected with the Sherman Printing Company.

Destroyed by Lightning
Sunset, Montague Co., Texas, June 12: The heaviest rain here today of the season. During the storm near this place N. A. WILSONíS house was struck by lightning and completely destroyed. Fortunately for the family, they were away from home.

Killed by a Traction Engine
Seymour, Baylor Co., June 10: MATTHEW FERRIER, ten year old son of DAVE FERRIER, was run over by a traction engine in Seymour this afternoon and instantly killed.

Tragedy in Hill County
Hubbard City, Hill Co., June 11: WILLIAM SMITH, who lived on the NILES farm ten miles southeast from here, was struck in the head with a hoe and died this morning. He and another party were hoeing cotton and had some words, when the tragedy occurred. The assailant immediately left the country. Smith was a worthy citizen and leaves a wife and one child. The assailant was a young single man.

Fannin County
Bonham, June 12: Officers help me locate and arrest the following parties, who broke jail here last night by sawing their way out: WALLACE GUIETT, a Frenchman, 34 years old, 5 feet 8 inches high, weight 140 pounds, black hair and eyes, dark complexion, charge of criminal assault, $25 reward; HERBERT BOWLIN, white boy 15 years old, five feet four inches, weight 100 pounds, light hair, fair complexion, blue or grey eyes, charged with burglary, $50 reward; G. W. RICHERSON, white man 25 years old, 6 feet high, weight 170 pounds, light hair, fair complexion, blue eyes, charged with carrying a pistol, $5 reward. W. W. RIDDLING, sheriff of Fannin County.
