Dallas Morning News Dallas, Texas August 27, 1910 First Bales of Cotton Electra, Wichita County: First bale of new cotton was received here Monday, raised by JOHN NEPPER who lives five miles north of here. On Tuesday, JOHN SEFCEK of the TUTTLE farm arrived with a bale. May, Brown County, Aug. 24: First bale was raised by J. W. CHAPMAN, a prosperous farmer three miles east of town. Sadler, Grayson County, Aug. 24: First bale was brought in by J. T. MCALESTER who resides ten miles northeast of here. Wylie, Collin County, Aug. 24: First bale was brought in by SCOTT PHILLIPS, about fives miles northeast of town. Aubrey, Aug. 24: First bale was received, raised by B. M. JORDAN, residing three miles east of Aubrey. Hobart, Oklahoma: $110 was paid to J. E. CAMPBELL for the first bale. Irving, Dallas County: First bale was brought in by BOYD RANGE. G. W. TOLER brought in the second bale. Weinert, Haskell County: First bale was brought in by J. W. CAMERON. Kingston, Oklahoma: First bale was brought in by J. C. SNELL, a farmer living about seven miles south of town. Wynnewood, Oklahoma: First bale was brought in by RED CALVERT, who lives five miles east of town. Childress: First bale was brought in by W. J. JOHNSON, east of town. Hasse: First bale was brought in by J. H. BAKER. Gainesville: First bale was grown by C. B. KERR, six miles east of town. O’Brien, Haskell County, Texas: First bale was raised by W. E. BRYANT, about three miles south of here. Hughes Springs, Cass County: T. E. KEASLER, a rural mail carrier here, brought in the first bale. Fort Towson, Oklahoma: First bale was brought in by JOHN BALL. Ringgold, Montague County: First bale was raised by T. H. MILUM. Breckenridge, Texas: First bale was raised by P. R. MCDANIEL near Crystal Falls. Madill, Oklahoma: First bale was raised by W. D. GRAHAM of Linn. Grandfield, Oklahoma: First bale was raised by FRED HILL, living 12 miles southwest of town. Davis, Oklahoma: First bale was raised by PETER HARMON, west of town. Nocona, Montague County: First bale was raised by T. M. GANN, three miles west of town. Walters, Oklahoma: First bale was raised by J. W. FLETCHER, five miles east of town.
