Leroy's in Texas in 1850 - 1860 Corpus Christi Area

My Leroys supposedly left Corpus Christi, TX sometime prior to 1870 on a wagon train to reach inherited property in Rogersville, Hawkins County, Tennessee. Something happened on the way, the mother died enroute, where we don't know. There were 3 children, 2 reached Hawkins County and were placed in homes to live until they married and had families of their own. The Court House and some records had been burned by the Union soldiers and the land was never found. We have no documentation and/or surnames. The children are Joseph and Ellen Leroy. At the time of arrival they were about 12 & 8, no one knows what happened to the 3rd child.

My only hope is to find some record in Texas with the family names. Or some type of public record recording death of mother and I suppose the father did not come with them or he also died enroute. Thanks, for reading my story. Mary Ellen
