After researching my family tree for 19 years I have finally found the last federal census I needed for my great grandmother, Frances "Fannie"/"Fanny" Day Henderson Currie. It was the 1900 census that I needed, which would also show my grandfather, Wayne Huff Currie, living with her. I found her living in Marshall, Harrison Co., TX. Up until last night all I knew about her daughter was that her name was M. E. b. 1875.
I'm looking for more information about Mary E. CURRIE who married unknown NOBLE born in Ohio date unknown.
Mary E. CURRIE is the daughter of Malcolm M. CURRIE (1841-MS, LA, NC ?-1890 Tilden, Avoyelles, LA) and Frances DAY HENDERSON (1846, Amite Co., MS-1905-TX,LA,MS) widow of Robert HENDERSON (1838-1866)
Mary was born in 1875 in Liberty, Amite Co., Mississippi. She is listed on the 1880 Federal census, Amite Co., MS Beat #3 with her parents and siblings. I find her again in the 1900 Federal census, Marshall, Harrison Co., TX, living with her mother, Fanny CURRIE. Mary has been married 3 years (1897) and has one child born Oct 1898 in Georgia. The child's name looks like Layton/Lytton NOBLE, but I can't read the census very well. Also, in the household is her brother, my grandfather, Wayne Huff CURRIE age 16 born DEC 1883 in Amite Co., Mississippi. The husband of Mary is not in the census. She is not listed as a widow, so her husband may have been off somewhere in another state working.
