Re: Patrick Hale Senter

Good news: Today I received the probate records for Patrick Hale Senter. It certainly doesn't appear he would be a horse thief (as rumored by family members) from the size of his estate....phew! His probate records read he died on April 15, 1863....not April 1st. as others have noted in their genealogy records. He was a resident of Johnson County, Texas.

Smith County book of marriages indicate he was married to Martha T. Elam on January 31,1842. Martha died in March, 1855 and is buried in the Starrville Cemetery, Smith County, Texas.

Patrick"s second wife was Nancy Jane Wells whom he married on Nov. 11,1855. When Patrick died, Nancy then married a William Dunn.

Now that I have those facts accurate, I would still like to find out "how" Patrick died. Does anyone know? I sure would appreciate some help.
